LED Indicator Guide
Green Battery LED
- Confirms that the tester has sufficient battery power.
0% LED
- Indicates very low detected moisture content.
Less Than 1% LED
- Indicates that the brake fluid is generally in good condition.
2% LED
- Indicates moderate moisture content.
- The fluid should be monitored and checked against the vehicle manufacturer’s service recommendations.
3% LED
- Indicates elevated moisture content.
- Brake-fluid replacement should be considered.
More Than 4% LED
- Indicates excessive moisture contamination.
- The brake fluid should be replaced as soon as possible.
The LED readings are approximate screening results and may vary according to fluid type, contamination, temperature and tester condition.
How to Use
- Open the vehicle’s brake-fluid reservoir carefully.
- Remove the protective cap from the tester.
- Press the tester button and confirm that the battery LED illuminates.
- Insert only the metal probes into the brake fluid.
- Wait briefly for the LED result.
- Read the indicated moisture level.
- Remove the tester and wipe the probes with a clean, dry cloth.
- Reinstall the protective cap after use.

Designed primarily for commonly used glycol-based automotive brake fluids, including:
- DOT 3 brake fluid
- DOT 4 brake fluid
Compatibility with DOT 5.1 depends on the tester’s calibration and should be confirmed before use.
