Transponder Identification
The device can read and identify many supported automotive transponder types. It displays available chip information through the Xhorse application, helping technicians select the appropriate cloning or generation procedure.
Supported identification functions depend on the transponder type and the current Xhorse database.
Transponder Cloning
The Mini Key Tool can clone selected transponder chips when used with a compatible original key and a supported Xhorse transponder.
The cloning process may involve:
- Reading the original transponder.
- Collecting the required calculation data.
- Completing an online or local calculation.
- Preparing a compatible Xhorse transponder.
- Writing the cloned information.
- verifying the generated transponder.
Some transponder types may require additional calculations, tokens, points, adapters or other Xhorse equipment.
Transponder Generation
The tool can generate supported Xhorse Super Chips and other compatible transponders for selected applications. Available chip-generation options are shown inside the Xhorse application and may change with application or firmware updates.
Generation does not automatically program the key to the vehicle. Vehicle immobilizer programming may still be required using a compatible key-programming device.
Remote Generation
The Xhorse VVDI Mini Key Tool can generate many compatible Xhorse remote-control products, including selected:

Vehicle coverage depends on the selected Xhorse remote, frequency, region and available database option.
Remote Cloning
Supported fixed-code and selected rolling-code remote controls may be copied when compatible with the device. The original remote must be functional and available during the cloning procedure.
Encrypted, manufacturer-protected or unsupported remote controls may not be cloned.
Frequency Detection
The built-in frequency-testing function helps technicians check whether a remote is transmitting and identify its operating frequency.
This function is useful when:
